Forty-six seniors at Medway
High School are among seniors
statewide to receive a John and
Abigail Adams Scholarship this
year.
Students in Cohort A were
recognized on Tuesday, Nov. 10
and students in Cohort B were
recognized on Friday, Nov. 13,
both during a socially-distanced
ceremony. Students in Cohort D
will be recognized at a later date.
"The John and Abigail Adams
Scholarship is a recognition of
academic success and we congratulate these students on this
achievement and the hard work
and dedication that it represents," Principal Murray said.
This scholarship is available
to students whose MCAS performance puts them in the top
25% of their district. To be eligible, students must either score
Advanced on the English, Math
and Science exams, or Advanced
on one exam and High Proficient
on the other two. Students take
the MCAS tests in the spring of
their sophomore year.
Recipients of the Adams
Scholarship are granted a fouryear scholarship upon their
acceptance to a participating
Massachusetts public institution
of higher education, including
the four undergraduate campuses of the University of Massachusetts, all nine state universities
and all 15 community colleges.
The exact amount of the Adams
Scholarship will depend on the
institution in which the student
enrolls, but for full-time, in-state
students, it currently averages:
• At the undergraduate campuses of the University of
Massachusetts: a credit of
$1,575 per year toward total
student charges
• At the state universities: a
credit of $1,036 per year toward total student charges
• At the community colleges:
a credit of $740 per year toward total student charges
