Eight Medway High School Students Accepted to Central District Senior Concert Festival
Principal John Murray is pleased to announce that eight Medway High School chorus and band students have been accepted to attend the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) Central District Senior Concert Festival.
Student musicians from across Central Massachusetts were invited to audition for the festival by submitting a video performance.
Medway High School students Matt Bullard, Rebecca Chleboski, Liv Dwyer, Lucas Farlow, Sienna Flotta and Grace Gerard were invited to the Senior Concert Festival for chorus. Abigail Brown, who plays trumpet, and William George, who plays clarinet, were invited to the Festival for band.
Gerard, Dwyer, Farlow, Bullard and George also received scores that qualify them to audition for the MMEA All-State Festival ensembles later this winter.
“Congratulations to this group of student musicians on their successful auditions,” Principal Murray said. “It is a valuable experience for our students to participate in the festival and work with instructors and students from around the region, and we look forward to seeing our students perform as part of the Senior Concert Festival each year.”
The Central District Senior Concert Festival will be virtual once again in 2022. Though additional details are still being confirmed, students will receive music to participate in a virtual rehearsal. They will then submit a recording of their part following the virtual rehearsal and the recordings will later be combined into a full virtual performance.
