The Medway Democratic Town Committee will not only nourish local citizens’ palates, but their civic knowledge at the Big Blue Bagel Breakfast on Sunday, May 1. This event, a fundraiser for the MDTC, will be held at the Medway VFW at 123 Holliston Street, and will feature Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, from local to statewide races.

“This event will give attendees the opportunity to not only hear from candidates, but to ask questions and to network with them prior to the state Democratic convention in June and the statewide primaries in September,” stated Democratic Town Committee chairman Larry Ellsworth.  “People will also get a chance to sign up to volunteer for various races, and hear about upcoming ballot initiatives as well, while enjoying good food and company.”

The MDTC expects Democratic candidates for statewide offices -- Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Auditor, and Governor’s Council – will attend as well as candidates for Congress, State Senate and House, Norfolk County posts, and local Medway boards.

 Tickets for the event are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at the Medway Democratic Town Committee website, medwaydemocrats.org/ or on your smart phone by scanning the QR code on flyers hung around town. 

The breakfast will be catered, with attendees able to select from an array of bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt and baked sweets, as well as coffee and tea. A cash bar will also be available. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the event will run until 1 p.m. The event coincides with International Labor Day, which celebrates the achievements of working people around the world, and their right to associate freely and act collectively.
