Millis United Church of Christ is in the midst of the Great 50 days of Easter. On April 17th they began the season with a 6 AM outdoor worship service which included watching the sunrise followed by a hot, hearty breakfast. The 10 AM worship service was filled with flowers, music, and fluttering butterflies. The children of the church enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt. Each Sunday of May, the congregation will continue to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

Millis United Church of Christ is excited about the return of children’s Sunday School classes on May 15th. For the last two years, occasional packets have been sent home for family learning. Once in-person worship began, the services have included a special time for children and activity sheets provided for in-pew use. On May 15th children, birth to grade 6, will begin in the sanctuary and those who would like, will leave for age-appropriate lessons to take place in Fellowship Hall. Children are always welcome to stay in worship for the entire time. Monthly lessons will continue through the summer. As the cadre of volunteers increases so will the frequency of lessons offered.

Millis United Church of Christ is on the move helping out charitable organizations near and far. During April significant funds were raised for One Great Hour of Sharing and Heifer Project. Local High School students worked with adults from the church to paint all the walls of the Millis Food Pantry. A team from the church helped to beautify the Town of Millis on Beautification Day.

On May 7th, a team from the church will participate in the New Life Furniture Bank 5K walk/run taking place on the Medfield State Hospital grounds. Go to the church’s website to join the team or to sponsor one of the team members.
