Ms. Moffatt’s Pixie Festival was held on a warm and breezy day, in Medway last month. Young and old enjoyed the display of over 20 tiny Pixie Houses that were nestled in a wooded glen at Choate Park. Moffatt’s goal was to create a wholesome experience with the focus on imagination and creativity. Family, friends and members of the Medway Cultural Council, helped to make this annual event a great success.
Over 140 participants, voted for their favorite houses and the People’s Choice Awards along with all the other houses are now on display at The Medway Public Library through the end of August.
Boys and girls delighted, as they dressed in costumes from a “Pixie Clothes Line” that was filled with fanciful dresses, tunics, and garlands. Fabulous face painting and tattoos by “Imagine That” and “Making Faces” delighted participants. Photos were captured with cell phones and by “Tim Rice Photography.”
“Ms. Celeste” engaged children at a special craft tent throughout the day, where 75 kids proudly emerged with their own little pixie creations.
Music filled the air with tunes by David Penza, and a beautiful Pixie, Julia Hurwitz, gathered children between musical breaks, for dance, song and storytelling.
Photo ops were created and constructed by “Bergeron Installations” and Aiofe and Sinead Bergeron. These structures included a life sized wishing well, a magical mushroom circle, a Pixie Throne, and hole-in-a-boards, illustrated by Tracey Babin.
This is the Festival’s 2nd year.
Ms Moffatt would like to thank her sponsors: Medway Cultural Council, Mass Cultural Council and Salmon Health and Retirement of Medway.
