Millis Veterans Day services
On Sat., Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. - the 11th month, the 11th day and the 11th hour - the Millis American Legion Post 208 and the Millis AMVETS Post 495 will hold a Veterans Day ceremony to commemorate the formal ending of World War I.
The event will take place at the Millis World War I Memorial in front of the American Legion, 136 Curve Street.
In addition to the usual presenters, the featured speaker will be Navy Commander Evan P. Wright, who is a Millis native, a graduate of the US Naval Academy, and most recently the Commanding Officer of the USS Cooperstown.
Millis Boy Scouts, Millis Girl Scouts, the Millis High School band, and the Millis Police and Fire Departments will assist with the ceremony.
This ceremony will honor all veterans who have served, both past and present, in defense of our country. Everyone is invited to attend. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the American Legion building across from the memorial.
