Students “danced their hearts out”
at annual Homecoming Dance
A first-hand report from student writer Kaitlyn Richards
Millis High School held its annual homecoming dance on Sept. 23. The evening was a fun night of dancing and celebrating the beginning of the school year.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., the gym filled up with excited students who were ready to dance. Everyone in the high school, from freshmen to seniors, danced their hearts out and took many pictures to hold onto the memories.
“I really enjoyed the homecoming dance this year. It was a fun night for dancing and hanging out with friends. The DJ played great music and the food provided by the junior class was good” said Nora Molloy, a junior at Millis High School. “I think the night was a great experience, and I am already looking forward to next year’s dance as a senior.”
The members of the Homecoming Court were voted on by Millis High School students during the week leading up to the dance and was announced during the annual pep rally on Sept. 22. The court made their official entrance in the middle of the Homecoming dance on Sept. 23.
This year’s full court included Riley Caulfield (Queen), Isabel Jewett, Jenn Scolponetti, Emily Skerry, and Victoria Ruo.
As for myself, the night was definitely one to remember. It was great being able to connect more with friends and enjoy ourselves together without feeling the stress of the school year. The Homecoming Dance is definitely one of my favorite ways to start the school year and I always look forward to it.
