Medway Veteran’s Day program to feature Dr. Vincent Arone

Arone, 103, is last surviving member of Belle of Texas air crew
All veterans are encouraged to attend the Medway Veteran’s Day program to be held on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Medway VFW, 123 Holliston St., at which Hopedale resident Dr. Vincent Arone will be the guest speaker.
Dr. Arone was a member of the Army Air Force, serving in the Central Pacific theater, serving as a Belly Gunner and radio operator on the crew of the AB-24 Bomber of the 42nd Bomber Squadron, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He enlisted in September 1942 until Dec. 31, 1945. At 103 years old, Dr. Arone is the last surviving member of his air crew on the Belle of Texas. Dr. Arone’s story is exciting and enlightening.
Veteran’s Day ceremonies will be held at the Medway VFW, starting promptly at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served immediately following the conclusion of the ceremonies and speaking program.
